The 2022 dates for the Victim Impact Panel sessions are as follows:

January 19              July 20
March 16                September 21
May 18                   November 16

*Reminder that paperwork must be received in our office 10 days prior to the scheduled session.  Please inform attendees of the $20.00 mandatory attendance fee – collected at the door, cashier’s check or money order ONLY made payable to Steuben County Sheriff. We WILL NOT accept any other form of payment.

*Individuals will not be allowed to attend without pre-registration and $20.00 fee.

The VIP sessions are held at the Public Safety Building, Front Conference Room.  Attendees can sign in beginning at 6:30 and the session starts promptly at 7:00.  No one will be allowed to enter after 7:00.

The CIP sessions are held at the Public Safety Building, Front Conference Room.  Attendees can sign in beginning at 6:00 and the session starts promptly at 6:30.  No one will be allowed to enter after 6:30.

The CIP, or Community Impact Panel, is used for persons convicted of DWI, DWAI-Drugs and Criminal Possession of Controlled Substances to educate on the science of substance use disorder and genetic pre-disposition, real life testimony  of unintended consequences of operating a vehicle while impaired or intoxicated and the availability for treatment locally for substance use disorder.  The majority of attendees were arrested for DWAI-Drugs and attend as part of the plea agreement.  Presenters at each session are the District Attorney, Sheriff and a CASAC from Steuben County SCASAS (addiction treatment counselor)
